Partnerships & Last-Minute Players

At EBC we are happy to facilitate arranging partners for players. While many players do have regular partners, there are always times where a different partner is needed. There is also the pleasure of meeting new people and enjoying a game with them. So, here is what you need to know to get a partner

Last minute games

If you are able to play and it is already game day and between 9:00 and 11:30, you may still call Steve and he will make an effort to find you a game. However, your chances of success are lower. You may also call the centre phone (416)394-8805 between 11:30 and game time.

When you call for a game, please indicate the level of player you wish to play with, be they

· Of equivalent skill

· Any skill level

You will be contacted with a possible partner.

Very Last-Minute Fill-In Players

We are keen to strive for full tables whenever possible. To that end, the following policies will apply

· The director will only play when needed to make a full table, ie, there are 11 tables and 3 more players at game time

· We will try to avoid half-tables if possible. To that end, we have a small list of “last-minute” players, who may be able to come over at game time to make a better game. For example, if we have 11 tables plus two players, we hope to be able to get two (or one plus the director) more players to make 12 full tables.

o If you are able to be a last-minute fill-in player on an as-needed basis, pls contact Steve

§ Specify the day or days that you could do this to help us out

§ Anyone who serves as a last-minute fill-in will play on that day for free

· If we have one single player above full table count, that player will, unfortunately not be able to play. We choose not to have the director play to make a half-table. To avoid this situation, please call ahead if you are thinking of coming over as a single.
